Kelly and I met each other at Harding University, but didn’t start dating and falling in love until after we had both graduated, and we were married on August 21, 2004.  You could hardly find two more contrasting characters than this fella from Florence, Alabama and this sweet woman from Fresno, California, but somehow we crack each other up and just love each other like crazy.  One of us is being ridiculous most of the time, and we added to the hilarity this past november when two beautiful little girls came to be a part of our family.

     Kelly and I felt like God was calling us into the ministry of parenting, and after a good bit of prayer were surprised to find ourselves increasingly drawn particularly into foster and adoptive parenting.  The two sweet little girls you see over on the right came into our families like twin tornadoes, making a mess like you’ve never seen before and absolutely grabbing our hearts.  Now it’s kind of hard to imagine life without them, and we finalized the adoption on June 15, 2009.  Look out if you see Micah and Izzy Hovater coming your way.  If they get to your heart, they won’t let it go.
